Government at its finest, once again. The only one thats going to be effected are the charter and party boats. The rest of the fishing community who fish from private boats or from shore are going to follow NJ's proposed size & limit regulations. Maybe we should make NJ's waters a sancuary body of water, where NJ Fish & Game don't enforce the federal fishing regulationa. lol What ever happened to State's rights. One size does not fit all.

Regs are killing the for hire industry in NJ. I used to run charters for small groups and I recall a trip where we caught more than 100 Fluke and the group went home with 3 keepers.
The guys had fun but Saltwater legacy is that of 'meat' fishing. Guys want to take some fish home! For one, no matter how you saltwater fish it isn't cheap (as compared to freshwater). Also, the fish taste so damn good.

A lot of buzz about Fluke Regs in social media is going on but what is equally or even more disturbing are the Seabass regs.
After the initial 'wave' of 10 fish which lasts about 3 weeks the season is essential shut down.
Keeping 2 fish during the summer is nice as by catch but no one is going to target them.
And 5 fish at the end of the year - when the fish have already migrated off shore is a joke. May as well say the limit is 0 because nobody is running to deep water wrecks for 5 fish.
