Didn't get a brood stock fishing opening day but I did slay a bunch using the micro chatterbait from zman, the flashback mini!
fished on the kayak and it was pretty fun!

I used to have the same issues with loosing fish on a similar stringer. I found out that the tube spacers between the clips doesn't allow enough movement and the fish twists and turns, breaking their jaws and get off. I went back to using a simple chain stringer with no tube spacers and haven't lost a fish since.
