By: Dan Alexander | 6 hours ago A kayaker off the coast of Ocean City reeled in a 6-foot shark on Wednesday night.

The catch was made about 200 yards from the 58th Street beach according to WCAU TV.

The shark, a a 6-foot Thresher, was released back into the ocean after people gathered around the shark and took pictures as it lay on the beach.

Willdlife experts tell WMGM TV that Thresher sharks are not known for attacking people.

I read an update or correction to the story that it was in fact a sand tiger shark.

On another note, Shark Week on the Discovery Channel had some very interesting programming this year.
