Going out opening day and will be using chicken, mackeral, sea robin and bluefish. Anyone else going out. If so what are you using?

I have used everything you have listed except for the chicken. I also use squid, killies, spearing and mullet. When you use the chicken. Do you cut it in worm like strips? I remember reading somethiing about it, but I'm not sure.

Are you fishing from shore or boat?

I cut my chicken strips like any other strip bait, 5-8in long 3/4-1in wide and 1/6-1/4in thick. I also use spearing which I seine hen I get to the beach ( I generally fish from shore, especially the surf) however I do fish from boats. Sometimes I also use small live spot or cunners. I even drift washed up mullet, especially the ones that float up after dolphin pods swim by. I always use a sliding weight which seems to help especially. In the early spring.
