I swear by "Ugly Stiks" for salt and freashwater fishing. Thats all I use on my boat when saltwater fishing. I pair them up with bait caster reels from "Penn" Good luck!

Check out Tsunami Rods also. They make a great rod at an affordable
price. I put mine through hell and they keep on fishing.

i personally only fish for fluke in back bays or near shore, and i generally only use lures up to 1.5oz, however this past summer i began trying deeper water, and must say that uglystick tiger rods are the way to go, there livebait rods, so they have a very soft tip, and good back bone, and the triangular grip really helps your wrist when you hook into a mystery fish, or after a long day of pulling up fish after fish.
