I have been fishing for over 40 years... mostly LM Bass, however I enjoy any type of fishing both FW and SW.   Recently, end of this past summer... I took on the challenge of fishing for carp... large carp.   My first goal was to catch a 10 pounder.   After many attempts of getting skunked... I finally started catching them... and ended up the summer with a best weight of 16 pounds out of the Cooper River.   Still on my quest for the 20... then of course 30.   Carp fishing is tough... a smart fish!  I had to learn a ton of new methods and bought all new equipment to better my chances.  Euro style is the way to go....  Capr fishing is gaining popularity across the country.  To be honest, I never thought I would get hooked on this type of fishing... but when you catch FW fish from 6 pounds and up consistently... you get hooked.  The fight is awesome... like bluefish if you have ever caught them.   As I am still very new to this, I started a new group... Carping in South Jersey.  I am hoping to get enuf members to share spots, baits, experiences.  Yes, I still love bass fishing too and will never stop fishing for them, but this has added an whole new element to FW fishing for me.  Totally different than any other type of fishing I have done.... If you have never fished for carp or caught one, trust me... once you nail a 10 pounder or more... you'll be hooked.... my best day was 8 carp.... all over 6 pounds and over 10   awesome day!
