Just got a 25' CC offshore boat and looking to outfit with the proper rod and reel setups. Boat is out of Wildwood so will be fishing out of Herford and Cape May inlets going to Cape May and Wildwood Reefs to start with plans to venture out further offshore as I get more comfortable. Looking for all suggestions (ie. Brands/models, reel sizes, drag weights & line test, rod sizes. Thanks for the help.

I used to have a 25’ Kencraft Buxton pilot house boat. I fished Raritan, Sandy Hook & NY lower bays, Off shore near Sandy hook and Raritan, Arthur Kill, Shrewsbury & Navesink rivers too. I swear by Penn bait caster reels and Shakespeare Ugly Stiks for fishing brackish & saltwater.
Take a walk around the marina and talk with the local guys and you won’t go wrong. The same thing applies for equipping your boat with other gear & equipment.
