You heard correctly point pleasant is a very productive spot, however it is very crowded, and difficult to fish. You can try any of the nearby beaches which are far less crowded. In the spring try clams and bunker on a fish finder rig for stripped bass, or you can try plugs (however fish can get choosy and if you don't have a wide range of colors and styles you will likely to get skunked). In summer try small half ounce buck tails with gulp swimming mullets (in chartreuse) for fluke and small stripers and blues, and try a hi low rig for delicious but much smaller spot and kingfish. In fall its back to stripers. Try diamond jigs with neon green tails, or needlefish plugs in green. You could try fishing eels, however they are expensive and bluefish will cut your baits in half if there are any around. You could also try clams or bunker. Tight lines.
