Catfish Bait

Does anyone have a catfish bait recipe that they are willing to share?

Cook 1 cup of white cornmeal & 1/2cup corn syurp until it forms a thick paste mix in 3 tbs. of real vinilla, let cool and store in plastic bag, form into small balls around hook let it set up until firm. Golden oldie given to me 40 years ago by an elderly black man fishing for channel cats on the Skookill river.. It works!
