As usual I missed out, due to work.
The Harrisburg Pa Sportsman Show is coming up Feb 2nd to the 10th. I might make this one. Before you go you might want to check first to see what vendors are still going to be there. I heard that a lot of vendors pulled out due to the gun ban at the show. Supposedly even Cabela's pull out of the show. Does anyone know if this is true??

Eastern Sports And Outdoors Show Postponed!!! 1/24/13
From www.EasterSportShow.com:

Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone, for now, the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show given the controversy surrounding its decision to limit the sale or display of modern sporting rifles (also called ARs) at the event. The show was scheduled to take place February 2-10 in Harrisburg, PA.
“Our original decision not to include certain products in the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show this year was made in order to preserve the event’s historical focus on the hunting and fishing traditions enjoyed by American families,” said Chet Burchett, Reed Exhibitions President for the Americas. “In the current climate, we felt that the presence of MSRs would distract from the theme of hunting and fishing, disrupting the broader experience of our guests. This was intended simply as a product decision, of the type event organizers need to make every day.

“It has become very clear to us after speaking with our customers that the event could not be held because the atmosphere of this year’s show would not be conducive to an event that is designed to provide family enjoyment. It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits showcasing products and services for those interested in hunting and fishing.

“ESS has long been proud to participate in the preservation and promotion of hunting and fishing traditions, and we hope that as the national debate clarifies, we will have an opportunity to consider rescheduling the event when the time is right to focus on the themes it celebrates.”

Postponed .. Why dont they just have fishing then ? WTF !! How many bullets do u need to shoot a deer , AR's ... Really..? I hope this isn't gona affect the March 1 show at Rockland Community College .. It shouldn't . I don't remember any guns at that one .. Hopefully it stays that way .. If u have a stance on this Automatic/ Gun issue , lets see how u feel when u get that phone call bout ur kid , or someone u know .. That's all . Sorry it still makes me sick to think about , so I don't blame them for postponing ..

Hey Guys,

I don't preach religion or politics and I don’t push my views on anyone. Its a total waste of time and effort. With that being said, I only posted the info, so if anyone was planning on going to the Sportsman’s Show they wouldn’t drive there for nothing. I’m guessing that they didn’t have a large enough number of fishing vendors to keep it going. Please don’t kill the messenger. Lol I think we all have a bit of cabin fever and just want to get back to fishing.

Tight lines

That wasn't a shot at u Jim . I was kinda venting toward the whole situation rooting from the whole thing being postponed .. I respect ur stance , whatever it maybe . I just felt the whole thing shouldn't be cancelled due to the guns pulling out .. Kinda like one bad apple ruining the bunch .. I am sorry if I stepped on any toes with that .. Cabin Fever ... wHaT cAbiN Fever...lol

No foul no harm. I've just seen so many non-related disagreements turn into major disputes, because personal views were pushed into topics/forums that it shouldn't have been involved in. By no means am I insinuating that you guys did this either. I'm sure you've seen and read exactly what I'm talking about in past blogs. Lets fish and have fun doing it!
