I think one of the best ways to introduce kids to saltwater fishing is bluefishing in the bays. This spring the smaller bluefish have been easy to find and are the perfect size to let them fight the fish without any help! .It usually lasts several weeks. The nice thing about it is you are fishing just minutes from the slip, none of that are we there yet??The weather is not much of a concern and if they get bored you are back at the dock quickly.
The other option for introducing kids to saltwater fishing is wreck fishing for Sea Bass on good days every time their bait hits the bottom they will get a bite. You can get a nice catch together with a little effort .There is nothing better than the excitement of the kids it doesn't matter what ize or type of fish they are reeling on.Both of these trips are great family experiences !!
Here is a photo of the Logue family Madison,Hailey and Hunter showing a few of the bluefish they caught a week ago on the Barnaget Bay in the Waretown area. What a lunker Hunter has to hold his arm up with his free hand!!lol
