Record day for the guys from Buttsville 4/14/12
We fished with Rob , Willie, Roy, Fred , Paul and Mike. They came down the night before in Robs Coachman Camper (The Magic Bus) . We left the dock at 6 am . We began a troll and it wasn’t long before we had a bite on the white spoon. Mike got his first striper. We began picking fish on the troll with shad rigs and bunker spoons. We read schools of stripers and did get bites however there was not much bait in the area. By 8:00 am we had 4 stripers in the boat ranging from 16 to 24 lbs “Just Right” As we were trolling we started seeing the birds making up, we trolled in that direction and hooked up just short of the bird play with all the lines and #5 in the boat we went to the birds to jig.
We rolled into a HOTT JIG BITE within a short time we put 17 fish in the boat hooking up 3 and 4 fish at a time. These guys can fish! By 9:30 am we had our 16 fish and started releasing fish. They wanted to beat their record they said we are going for 36. We stayed with the fish jumping ahead of them and drifting with them and we accomplished the goal 36 to the boat keeping 16 and carefully releasing the rest by noon time.
The fishing is as good as it gets right now we have a makeup trip next SUNDAY and need 2 more anglers call 908-400-0761 If interested www.obsessionfishing.com
